Under California Business and Professions Code Section 7048, as amended by AB 2622 (effective January 1, 2025), persons performing home improvement work for compensation are exempt from contractor licensing requirements when the total cost of the project — including all labor and materials — does not exceed $1,000.
Lifestyle Renovations operates exclusively within this exemption. We do not perform work on projects that exceed $1,000 in combined labor and materials without a licensed contractor.
Lifestyle Renovations performs handyman services including, but not limited to: home repairs, installations, drywall repair, carpentry, painting, flooring repairs, plumbing fixture repairs, electrical fixture repairs, fencing and exterior repairs, concrete patching, and project consultation.
Certain types of work — including structural work, work requiring building permits, and work on systems requiring licensed tradespeople (licensed electricians, licensed plumbers, licensed HVAC technicians) — are outside the scope of handyman services. When a project requires licensed contractor work, Lifestyle Renovations will advise the customer and, where possible, provide a referral to a qualified licensed contractor.
All work performed by Lifestyle Renovations is completed with reasonable care and skill. However, Lifestyle Renovations makes no express or implied warranties regarding the results of any work performed. Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we will work to address any concerns about completed work in a timely manner.
Lifestyle Renovations' liability for any claim arising from services performed shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
